Optimising Oilseed Rape Crop Management

Welcome to the BASF oilseed rape crop management website

Plant breeders have increased the yield potential of new oilseed rape varieties by 0.5 t/ha per decade since the 1970s. However, average farm yields have remained static at 3 t/ha. Nonetheless, yields of 5 t/ha or even more are achieved on some farms which demonstrates the size of the potential yield.

Careful crop management is required to achieve the high yield potential. This must involve tailoring crop inputs to the state of the crop (e.g. the size of the canopy) and seasonal/regional environmental factors (e.g. disease pressure). BASF have developed this website to assist in your crop management decisions through the year.
